Want to start the new school year off on the right foot? Then you need to read through Valerie – Georgia Grown Kiddos’ Best Advice Ever link up! Bloggers are sharing their “Best Advice Ever” and we want you to know all about it before heading back for the 2015-2016 school year!
After 10 years of teaching, in various grade levels, different teaching positions, a variety of leadership opportunities, and a massive amount of professional development, you would think I could manage in education on my own. Well, you my friend, are WRONG! No matter my position, grade level, subject area, etc I still have a lot of learning and growing to do as an educator. The only way to be an effective teacher is through collaboration with fellow teachers.
Every teacher has their own strengths and weaknesses. What is beautiful about a strong grade level is that they all complement each other’s weaknesses. You don’t want teachers with the same strengths together, because they won’t grow! Collaboration and growing/learning from each other is so important. My “Best Advice Ever” is ask questions, work together, share ideas, be supportive to other teachers, and rely on your team to support you!
Don’t be disagreeable, a glory hog, greedy with your lesson plans, or out to find the negative in every situation. Work together and you will have the best school year ever! I hope you have a fantastic year with your students AND your team/coworkers!
