Are you ready to get yourself organized for the school year? As a teacher, mom, wife, chef, taxi driver, baseball coach, etc., etc., etc., life can get very busy quickly. Before I even realize it, I am stressed to the max, snapping at everyone, and just can’t quite seem to figure out why my pants no longer fit (a terrible side effect of stress eating). One way that I have finally found to manage it all is to have a really great planner by my side 24-7! No lie, I keep it next to my bed at night!
I’ve tried them all!
Seriously, if there was a trophy for the most planners ever used, I would proudly claim that prize. I’ve loved my Erin Condren planners, Happy Planners, Filofax, etc. However, I loved pieces of each of them and never found one that completely met my needs. For example, I love the Erin Condren teacher planner and life planner, but I don’t like that I can’t remove or add pages easily. I love that about the Happy planner, but I don’t like that I can’t customize the planner to meet my needs. What is a gal to do…make her own!
BEST idea ever!
This year, I am throwing all those other planners into a drawer and using my own planner that I designed so that I can customize and use what I love and need.
I decided to go with a disc or ring binding so that I can add more pages, notes, keepsakes, reminders from school, and other notices with ease. I love this about disc planners. When I’m at a faculty meeting or my son hands me a party supply list, I can punch holes and add it to my planner so I don’t forget.
The calendar pages can be edited, typed on, and notes can be added. I love going ahead and adding important dates to my planner (e.g., birthdays and anniversaries). I can type out an inspirational scripture or thoughts for the month or even add past memories.
I can even pick what pages that I want to include! Do I want to include my lesson plans into the book or just do a weekly spread? I can add both or only one! Just print and go! If you have a specific lesson plan template that you have to use for your school, you can just print your plans and place them in the lesson plan section! So easy!
Organize your desktop too!
Yes! Even my desktop needs to be organized! I always have my sections ready to help me know where all my important items are, and with the calendar on the desktop too, I can quickly reference important dates (like days off).
