Want to know the secret to a spotless classroom floor at the end of each day? Secret Trash is your answer!
I learn the best tips at lunch with my co-workers! While discussing nasty classroom floors a month or two back, a friend suggested that we all try “Secret Trash”. Say what?
Does your classroom floor look like this? Or worse?
Go around right before dismissal and pick one piece of trash to memorize in your mind. Tell the students that there is a secret piece of trash. The student who finds the secret trash will get a prize (3 Skittles, sucker, lead pencil, etc). Now sit back and watch as the trash begins to disappear.
As students bring you trash, watch to see who has the secret piece. Don’t announce who had the piece until the floor is completely clean.
When the floor is spotless, announce the winner/finder of the secret trash. Be sure to make it a HUGE deal! Yay! Now the floor is spotless and even the smallest pieces of trash have been picked up. AND your students thought they were just playing a game to win a treat. 🙂 #suckers #cleanfloor #novacuumneeded
