What are you going to do with all those Easter eggs laying around the house? Why not create something fun that could go perfect with a life cycle unit?
I am normally the girl that tosses the plastic eggs in the trash. (I know! Go ahead and judge me!) This makes my thrifty husband cringe, but I hate storing things like this and then forgetting them the next year. However, when I stumbled upon this Caterpillar Easter Egg Craft, I knew it was perfect for my upcoming butterfly life cycle units so I held on to them! Look how cute they turned out!
Want to make them with your students! Here’s what you will need:
-12 to 15 plastic egg halves per student
-pipe cleaners (2 per student)
-pompoms (2 per student)
-wiggly eyes or a marker
To start, just feed the pipe cleaners through the top holes. Leave extra at the top for the antennas. Then twist the pipe cleaner on the other side to secure it from moving. Continue to feed the eggs all going the same direction onto the pipe cleaners.
For the very last one, I suggest finding two different colored eggs that will snap together. This will make the caterpillar look more complete. Hot glue the pompoms and draw your face! That’s it!
