Break out all things orange, pumpkin spice, and apple related! It is fall! Fall is easily my favorite season in the classroom. There are so many different learning opportunities that you can correlate to your state standards to make learning fun and engaging for your students! Plant life cycles, animal life cycles, seasons, habitats, and more are waiting to be explored this time of year! I’ve compiled a list of a few of my favorite fall freebies that I have available for you to download and use in your classroom. This post also contains affiliate links. We receive a small commission each time someone makes a purchase through one of our links, which helps to support the blog (and our family!)
Pumpkin Anchor Chart
I spend at least a week or two just on pumpkins. There are so many different sink or float pumpkin activities, sorting pumpkins, and life cycle activities that are awesome for science experiments. This anchor chart is what I use at the very beginning of our pumpkin week fun. We discuss the physical attributes and characteristics of pumpkins using adjectives and also discuss the life cycle. I am a HUGE fan of Gail Gibbons and her book, The Pumpkin Book, is full of facts! The anchor chart is the perfect companion activity while reading the book aloud. Editable Fall Printables
Do you like having control over the printables that you use with your students? I have two editable worksheets that allow you to type in the letters, numbers, sight words, etc that your students are learning! It is an awesome way to differentiate instruction and practice activities. These can be used for morning work, centers, or homework. Want to grab these printables for your classroom? Click here!
After you download the freebie, you will need to open in Adobe Reader and edit. Here’s a quick video to show you exactly how to add your words, numbers or letters.
Witch Craft
Writing topics such as How to Make a Witch’s Brew or If I Could Fly on a Broomstick are fun, imaginative writing topics that will have even your most reluctant writers moving their pencils. I have a fun witch craft to accompany your writing topic fun! Download this craftivity by clicking here!
Where’s My Mummy?
Pull in story elements during the month of October by reading Where’s My Mummy. The free mummy flipbook will help you cover all story element standards while encouraging your students to analyze the text. Grab this free download by clicking here!
Fall Making Connections
Teaching second graders to learn to make connections can be difficult. Modeling how to make connections between self, text, and world can really help them begin to understand and use this comprehension skill while they read independently. I use this sort each year during small group time. It also makes an appearance during the season as a center station. Download this freebie by clicking here!
I hope you enjoy each of the five FREE downloads that are included in this post! Head over to checkout all of my fall products by clicking here!
